My name is Martina Karlsson (most people call me Tina), and I'm a 31 year old girl born and raised in Halmstad, Sweden. Now I'm living in Onsala which is south of Gothenburg. I've studied Informatics at the University in Halmstad for three years and I now work as a systems developer at StroedeRalton. I spend a lot of time with the computer, and here I mostly surf, listen to music, play some games and try to make art. I have a wonderful fiance named David, and two adorable black and white cats named Lakrits and Sico.
When it comes to my personality I'm a quite silent person. I'm more of a listener than a talker, except for my closest friends, which I can babble a lot with. I also need to have my privacy, even if I like to spend time with friends. Sometimes I'm a perfectionist, I can spend hours on getting the details just right for something. But if you take a look at my desk you wouldn't use that word... =) When you look at this it may look like I'm a bit contradictory, and I guess that's just what I am. I'm afraid of the dark, yet I still love it...
Music is an important part of my life, and I like lots of music! The genres I listen to are mostly pop, rock, and eletronic music (like synth pop). Favourite artists include Roxette, Bryan Adams, S.P.O.C.K, Apoptygma Berzerk, Alphaville, Depeche Mode, Hurts, Covenant, And One, Eurythmics, Nickelback, Within Temptation, and the list goes on... When it comes to my own musical talent (or the lack of it!) I've tried to learn how to play the guitar and keyboard but I've given up on that.
Drawing is an interest I've had since I was a kid, I made a lot of pencil drawings. A few years ago I took the step to paint on the computer also. And somewhere in this I discovered Poser and found out that this was a pretty neat program for making great looking images. I did a lot of renders between 2004 and 2008, but after that I've been taking long breaks, though from time to time I find my inner muse again and whip something up. In the gallery you can find some of the stuff I've done using Poser. Most images have been postworked in Photoshop. For other medias you can check out my other site at roxcat.net
. I haven't thought about making art for a living, I think I want to have it as something private that I do just for fun. My images go in many different styles, ranging from simple pin-ups to gothic. So you'll find a little of everything from me.
